Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on August 8, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. At a young age, her dental doctor parents as well as her teacher mother supported Audrey's love of theatre and drama. This passion which trumped her original desire to become a the first primatologist. The actress became famous as an actress in her early years and with great success. It was only in 1999, when she started acting professionally. In the years following her studies, Tautou was a participant in the French TV show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers. Tautou was a student at the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris when she was a kid and studied there at young age but has sworn off her Catholic upbringing. The actress claims to be a non-Catholic. As well as her acting profession, she pursued a modelling career. Also, she is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. She is a keen photographer and produced a recent exhibition at The Arles International Festival titled Superficial. Her photographs are largely about the spotlight and fame. They also feature a collection of self portraits as well. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and acclaim with her big role in Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie won international acclai film box office successes and received acclaim at awards ceremonies across the globe. It is the most successful French language film to be released in the US. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou starred in numerous films, which included British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
